Press Release Summary = The release of the YLX-TRM8053-500 radio module may be more
important than any Y-Lynx products release in the past. This ISM Radio modem is a
powerful combination of a full-feature ISM band transceiver with a low power
wireless communication library IC (LibIC). With an optimized RF sensitivity,
together with an external amplifier allowing 500mW output power, communication of up
to several kilometers can be achieved, even at high data rates.

Press Release Body = December 4, 2006 - Y-Lynx new YLX-TRM8053-500 Radio modem is a
powerful combination of a full-feature ISM band transceiver together with a low
power wireless communication library IC (LibIC). The combination of up to several
kilometers can be achieved even at high data rates, with an optimized RF sensitivity
and with external amplifier allowing 500mW output power and with minimal power
consumption.

The radio modem is intended for low power sensor network with an emphasis on long
range (>10km) applications. For example it would be suitable for wireless tracking
goods, automated meter reading (AMR), as well as home automation.

Compared with other radio modems, the Y-Lynx radio modem includes a more powerful
and complete radio communication controller. It operates the radio packet protocol,
the communication interfaces, generic inputs outputs signals and manages the RF
front-end. The radio modem can be configured through three mains classes of commands
that are compatible with the OSI stack.



The YLX-TRM8053-500 offers a link budget with a higher value than that of its
competitors. It assures highly reliable point-to-point or point-to-multipoint
communication, even under the most demanding conditions and over an exceptional
range (in excess several kilometers). The YLX-TRM8053-500 transmitter is capable of
delivering 500mW (+27dBm) output power at 3.3V and receiving sensitivity down to
-118dBm @4.8kbps. The high performance radio modem is available at 868MHz at data
rates from 4.8kbps to 152.3kbps.
